About This Quote

The story of how the witch of Hamelin was killed by a man who had grown to hate her. Each day, the woman of Hamelin would hang the children on the wall by their feet until their necks were bare. She would then cut off their heads and leave them to dry on the wall. In order for the children to be rescued from this cruel fate, a man would have to step in and do away with her.

He was not able to do it until he came to hate her. Even though he wanted to kill her, he did not want to do it himself. He wanted someone else to do it for him because he could not bring himself to take a life.
